Gold-fill can last a lifetime unlike gold-plating which wears down to expose the metal underneath. It is a 14k gold overlay made by heat and pressure-bonding the layer to a brass core. Turquoise has long been associated with clarity, wisdom and kindness. It is a birthstone for December and the 11th anniversary gemstone.
